OFFKAT is one of the most iconic collabrative fashion projects to take place in 2021, CREATIVELY directed by Virgil Abloh & Katsu.

[[this article was written before, virgil’s passing]].

The launch of the collection was kicked off with a live runway show in Beijing, alongside an exhibition in New York. This was around the time when Virgil was working on a hand full of exihibitions, including “the Figures Of Speech” presentations. Looking at this specific collection, it stood out, it consisted of some of the most peculiar pieces within the contemporary fashion world in 2021. What makes this collection so interesting to talk about, is the cool game that came out admist the release called OffKat.

Offkat is Virgil,'s Off White and Katsubot's Kat, joining forces for a collection full of Katsu’s graffiti style & Virgil’s Streetwear aesthetic, the collection is cohesive and is some what iconic. Katsu is a New York based graffiti artist, he's also a game developer. KATSU is particularly known for tampering with the intersection of art, graffiti, dark tech, hacking and vandalism - a pioneer in drone painting and drone graffiti.

The OFFKAT collection was released on 10 July and was accompanied by a game you can download on your phone to play on your mobile. The game is centered around Virgil & Katsu, tagging the streets under surveillance cameras and being pursuited by police officials. This is a new sight to see in the fashion world; having gaming and fashion co-exist under one subject matter.

This is what Virgil did, he was able to bridge gaps and come up with some much interesting ideas especially with a large sum of his collaborations. The games logo was changed, it doesn't look the way it did 2021, but the game play is still the same and it is pretty cool. The game encorporates visuals from the OFFKAT collection, including
all the contemporary sculptures. Therefore crossing the lines once again, filling in the gaps between certain areas of what we know as "art" and dissolving the boundaries between the two domains, Virgil Abloh lives forever in the minds of those he taught. Thank you.

The Game is available on all mobile app stores!
